green design will save the world...tick tock

Field of 2000 Wispy Dandelions

We are absolutely loving this mind blowing art installation 'Windstille' translated to be calm, painstaking pieced together by the fabulous german artist Regina Ramseier.

It’s hard to believe, but Raseier picked over 2,000 dandelions for this ethereal art exhibit, which was shown at the ArToll Summer Lab 2011. Sprayed with fixative to set them in time, they were carefully transported to the lab, each one individually plugged into a white board, and subsequently hung from the ceiling.

The artist has transformed something that is completely transient in nature into an amazing semi-permanent work of art. She has created a sort of timeless indoor meadow that seem to descend straight from the heavens. The result is both exuberant and calming, a kind of preserved fragile moment poised in the space between stillness and motion.
